Dr. A. Ka Tat Tsang

Dr. Ka Tat Tsang is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, where he has been full-time faculty since 1993. Dr. Tsang practiced as a clinical psychologist and taught at the University of Hong Kong in the 1980s. Dr. Tsang has been active in introducing Social Skills Training to human service and healthcare professionals since the early eighties, and has designed specific applications to adults with severe mental health problems, infantile autism, couple counseling, school social work, addiction counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, interpersonal relationships training, community development, and corporate training.


After many years of revision and modification, the model was renamed Strategies and Skills Learning and Development (SSLD) in 2005. Dr. Tsang is now writing a book on the Model, which is expected to come out in 2008


Dr. Tsang's other research and practice interests include psychotherapy process, sexuality, identity politics, and cross-cultural issues. One of his current projects is the development of a multiple contingency model for clinical practice.
